Sqwiggle is an always-on online workplace for your remote team to work together throughout the day and feel more connected.
As more and more of us prefer flexible work times at different locations, Sqwiggle can be a solution to those who are already accustom to meet with co-workers through a webcam rather than between four brick walls. Recently I’ve been using the desktop app myself and must say that it works great!
So what is Sqwiggle-Feed and how did it all start? Sqwiggle did not release a mobile app just yet, but they do offer an API for developers to use. My good friend Dyel Kassa Koumba had made a prototype of Sqwiggle-Feed for his company Everywhere. He showed it to me and I got really excited to contribute. We then used the Sqwiggle API to build an easy-to-host platform for all Sqwiggle teams to install on their servers. Sqwiggle Feed allows you to access a backlog of your Sqwiggle-feed on your mobile device. This way, you’ll always know what has been happening in your virtual office before you go online and join your co-workers.
Sqwiggle Feed allows you to access a backlog of your Sqwiggle-feed on your mobile device.
The application currently has the following features:
- See which co-workers are in the office
- See a feed of all messages, including attachments
- Post a message from your mobile to your team members
- Scroll down to see more – the app will load more posts as you reach the end of the page
Sqwiggle-Feed is built on a PHP back-end and an AngularJS front-end. It can be installed on any server that supports PHP. It also comes with an install process that get’s you up and running in no-time. If you like Sqwiggle-Feed but don’t know how to install it on your server, contact me.
